It has been over 3 months since I have published a blog post. Wow. What’s funny is, I have consistently used all blog-related hashtags on every Instagram post over the past 3 months, but how can you call yourself a blogger if you don’t blog? Well, that’s a good question. I’m still a blogger. And the truth is I’ve had every intention of writing blog posts consistently and sending my weekly email newsletters. However, what has ended up happening has clearly been an unintentional break. That’s okay though, and I’ve realized that. You see, while you haven’t seen any blog posts from me or emails-that doesn’t mean I have been doing nothing. I’ve actually been doing A LOT. A lot of behind the scenes work for Start Going Further, and well I guess it’s time to tell you about it and resume my weekly blog posts and email newsletters that bring me so much joy.
If you’re on my email newsletter list, you know that I’ve completely updated my email design and template, and am using an entirely different plugin. This is something I’ve given a lot of thought to, and honestly I just wanted to revamp it. I think it was a needed change. What else has needed a change was my website in general. I’ve completely redone the theme of it and simplified my website overall. I was frustrated with the slowness of the previous theme loading, and now it is functioning much better and is more simple. This has also included designing a brand new logo for myself. My first logo wasn’t an officially designed logo, but this one is a true professional logo design that I created myself. Everything is figureoutable! Through all of these exciting changes, I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking deeply about the direction I dream of taking Start Going Further. There are so many dreams that I have, and sometimes it is overwhelming (in a good way).
I am still making candles, of course. Recently, I’ve started making candles in cut wine bottles which has been really fun. It was always meant to be another part of my candle business, and the time has come for that. I’ve honestly got a lot of candle-making to do! Although I’ve thought about pursuing Farmer’s Markets in the past, I enjoy building my candle business through friends and family first, and primarily online. I’m so passionate about more natural household items, candles included. It really is so important to pay close attention to the ingredients in everything. I’m convinced the candles I make are some of the most natural and nontoxic ones available.
I’m writing an Ebook, to be published this YEAR. Writing is something I enjoy very much, and publishing books and becoming “a real author” is one of those big dreams that I have. I won’t give too many details right now, but an Ebook seems like a great place to begin this evolution of Start Going Further. I’d love to write a lot of books, and I only see “published author” as becoming more and more a part of my identity. If you’re on my email newsletter list, you will absolutely be among the first to know when this project gets closer to launching. It’s really a dream for me, and way too important not to pursue-so I’m doing it!
With absolutely everything that flows through Start Going Further, I hope to share my mission that if you just start going further in whatever it is that you’re doing in life, whatever your big dreams or goals are, you really can get there. Start Going Further is a lifestyle, an active choice you must make daily.
