It’s Okay to be Multi-Passionate

It’s okay to be multi-passionate. But, this is not the message that is widely shared. Ever since launching my blog in 2020 and getting more serious about my social media accounts, I have wrestled with this thought that I must niche down. I’ve tried time and time again, and all that has happened is me stuck at a standstill. If I can’t share what I want to (which is various topics), I end up not sharing anything at all. My heart has been confused and conflicted for so long. Nearly all of the messaging that exists for building your own business and brand, is about niching down and being specific. I want to finally say that it’s okay to be multi-passionate. Yes, it really is okay. And if you’re not a blogger or aspiring business-owner, it doesn’t matter because this applies to all of us.

I do not think it is healthy to allow ourselves to be defined by one thing, let’s say our job title or even being a mom. Yes, I really believe this. I think it’s okay to have multiple identities in life, and really healthier compared to just one. I believe this is how we allow our soul to truly flourish on Earth, and for us to become all that we were meant to while here. Here’s a little about my journey and my never-ending passions. I love being a Dog Mom, advocating for the health and wellness of dogs and advocating for the role of dog moms (dog moms are not less than contrary to what I’ve been told time and time again). I’m proud to be a Dog Mom, and it’s a big part of my identity. I also love wellness in general, including nutrition, nontoxic living, being an ingredient-snob, and primarily cooking with wild-game meat only that my husband hunts and harvests himself. I am passionate about writing and becoming a well-known author, as well as a life-coach and online business owner—all in the name of creating a big impact and helping others. At once I was also pursuing candles as a small business (I still will make candles, but really only for custom orders and requests), but have more recently decided to put that on the back burner because I need to devote more time to writing. Becoming a NYT Best-Selling Author is going to take some real time and quality work!

I currently have a regular, full-time job and I have a few contract jobs where I work with other business owners on their marketing/social media needs. Last month I became certified as a Reiki Level I Practitioner. I also am a part of an online church group with Elevation Church and am very passionate about spirituality in all ways (Yes, I can love Jesus and Reiki I promise). I love CrossFit and lifting weights, as well as meditation and yoga. I am in love with the state of Colorado, am honored to call it my home, and passionate about adventure and spending time in the great outdoors. I’m also really passionate about traveling in general (mostly to national parks, and remote wilderness destinations), particularly road trips. I think it is necessary to our personal growth and development to spend some time traveling and in the outdoors. I have two degrees in psychology, and am so passionate about mental wellbeing and personality, understanding yourself.

You may be thinking all of this is a lot, and it is isn’t it? I don’t disagree with you. The truth is, I probably haven’t even covered absolutely everything that I am passionate about and value. But, you at least understand that it’s a lot, and it’s many things. So, I’ve decided that I don’t just want to be one thing in this world. I want to be many—as many as I’d like to be. And I hope I can encourage you that it’s okay if you’re multi-passionate like me. I believe that I have these deep passions for a reason, and so I must act on them. They are all a part of me living my best, most purpose-filled, and happiest life while here on Earth.

You may see me posting about a homemade ranch recipe, and then the next post about me writing my first book. I’ve finally given myself the freedom and permission to do this. It may not make sense to everyone else in the world, but I’m fine with that. I know that I’m pursuing my purpose in this world, which includes many passions. I hope you will give yourself the freedom and permission to do the same.
