I’ve shared a lot about gratitude lately, because I’ve been thinking about it a lot. I think that gratitude is underrated and not thought about often enough. I believe that gratitude is how you win. I’ve gained inspiration about this from Gary Vaynerchuk. Gary Vaynerchuk or Gary Vee as he is mostly known is an amazing entrepreneur, businessman, investor, and so much more. He is incredibly successful, but what makes him unique is his deep understanding of what the majority of us take for granted. He talks about kindness and gratitude constantly and if you listen to him too, you know it’s impossible to not be inspired and changed by this guy.
“Gratitude is how you win” is the title of this blog post, and it’s probably something that I’ve heard Gary Vee say himself. I also tend to say a lot that kindness is how you win, and this also came from Gary Vee. What do I mean by gratitude is how you win? We should all think about gratitude constantly. Gratitude should be at the forefront of our minds. We all take so much for granted, and a way to not do this is to seriously practice gratitude. Gratitude elevates us, and really allows us to become the best version of ourselves. Gratitude ensures that we are living our lives the fullest because we don’t take anything for granted.
I’ve dabbled in gratitude practice over the past few years, but honestly I’ve felt that I’ve always come up short. I was making gratitude too complicated. If we have to really sit and think about it, ponder over it for any amount of time, we’re doing it wrong friends. Gratitude should be simple. The truth is, practicing gratitude isn’t hard at all.
We should have immense gratitude for all of the joys that are a part of any ordinary day. If our loved ones are alive and healthy, if we have a roof over our head and running water-these are all reasons to be grateful.
I think that we all have an easier time practicing gratitude after we have just made it through a tough season in life. If you’ve been unemployed, you know how amazing it feels to just have a job. If you’ve been seriously unhappy at work and with your job, you know how wonderful it feels to enjoy and like your job. If you’ve had a health scare or one of your loved ones has, you probably appreciate good health even more.
The problem is, we shouldn’t only be able to practice gratitude after these tough seasons. We should be able to practice gratitude all the time, constantly even. You may think I’m exaggerating, but trust me I’m not. Gratitude has been a life-changing concept for me.
It’s easy to begin practicing gratitude more often, you just have to do it! If you start consciously thinking about gratitude more, eventually it will be a part of who you are, and your routine.
Diligently practice gratitude this week. You won’t regret it.
In the Spirit of Adventure,
Demie
